CLINICAL STUDIES

Since time immemorial, people have been using several ways for elongating body parts for enhancing their status or beauty. Tribal people have been using a method called traction for transforming their bodies, enlarging their earlobes and lips, lengthening their finger, neck and penis and even expanding their nose and openings.Traction or stretching as it is called is known to encourage expansion and growth of tissue cells which leads to permanent change.

Modern medicine had made use of a refined and controlled version of traction which has been used in number of applications ranging from growing new skin for grafting by stretching of tissue to expansion of natural tissue. Recently science has applied it to the areas of penis enlargement.

European doctors had always been looking at a more sophisticated and precise process for penis enlargement. They felt that it could build new tissues in a permanent manner and felt that a device could be developed which could be used safely and effectively for increasing length and girth of penis. They even felt that a device could be developed which can help in treatment of penile disorders such as Peyronie's disease, or curvature of the penis. Earlier methods were primitive in nature, offered an opportunity for tissue growth but results were unpredictable in nature.

REPORT SUMMARY

Given below is the report summary presented at the 1stInternational Interdisciplinary Symposium on Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery held in Barcelona, Spain on 6th, 7th and 8thfrom a study referred to as Tractive Elongation of the Penis by Means of Stretching by JornEgeSiana, MD at Scandinavian Clinic of Plastic Surgery, Copenhagen.

METHODS AND MATERIAL USED

  • Number of patients: Eighteen patients with average age ranging from 23 to 47 years
  • It included normal erectile capacity and no penile surgery
  • Excluded chronically diseased
  • Traction force which was applied from 0 to 2 weeks was 900-1000g and from 2 to 24 weeks was 1000-1200g
  • The treatment period ranged from twelve hours daily to seven days a week to eight to twenty four weeks
  • It was followed up every two weeks

STUDY CONCLUSION

This lead to an increase in erection length to 1.1 inches after 1100 hours at 1200 g traction force. The corresponding flaccid increase was 0.75 inches. As per preliminary study, patients were able to achieve penile lengthening after traction with average length per week was 1.9 mm with no complications or medical indications.
